You Guys Were Right About My Chainsaw!
I'm going to try this excellent tip. I have been turning the anti-scalp wheels 90° and putting the pins in at that position. My biggest problem is reattaching the PTO shaft. No room and I have to use my left arm, which is weaker due to foramenal stenosis in my neck. I'm going to try heating up the slip yoke with a heat gun next time and see if it slides easier.
Also since they weigh a fair bit it much the center of gravity lower
3502 is the fix😂
I’m so glad I got the backhoe.
Is your pond strictly catch and release
Not necessarily. We intend to eat some catfish and bluegill out of it, but we haven’t much. Only a few times…
Floating. Love just floating on a tube in my pond
You know, we haven’t done that. We will be soon!
“Camp Kayden” ?
That’s right!
Having an area for water plants and fishing.
Absolutely! Nothing like it. 👊
You didn't mention if the lower arms are cat 1 or 3, looks like there are requiring bushings.
Yeah the arms on the BX are cat 1 and this is advertised cat 1 compatible. It does require bushings in addition to the mods I had to make. It also ripped in half after just a few months pulling the box blade. Literally just ripped apart.
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead Thank you looks like Pats Easy Change is the way I'll go, just too confusing and risky choosing a quick hitch. Have a stump grinder and wood chipper on the way need to decide how to attach them before I size the PTO shaft.
I think that’s a good call. I’ve heard lots of good things about Pat’s.
Great decision - better view than Dollar General!
Just a tad.
Man Lucas, I'm SO jealous of your pond. I've been wanting to buy an excavator to dig a pond on our property ever since we bought the property 3 years ago. But since buying the property, I've been spending money on tractors, building buildings, etc, etc....But at some point, after I stop hemorrhaging money on other things, I'm going to buy an excavator, dig the pond, and then sell the excavator again, and hopefully dig my pond for a small amount of money.
That is a great plan! I hope you get to do it soon. You will get so much enjoyment out of it.
I have the same tractor and love it. I had one warranty issue that was looked after by my dealer, the rear PTO seal started leaking after using the brush hog, replaced and oil topped up by the dealer and no further issues. I did have to tighten the throttle bolt and nut, i wasn't staying up at RPM, easy job after watching a youtube video. And lastly, the removal of the oil and hydraulic filters proved to be challenging, I'm not sure who tightened them at the factory but way to tight.
Yeah they are great machines! First maintenance is tough because of those filters! 😂
Solid advice. Thanks
We love our pond! It’s my favorite feature of the property. Great video Lucas!
Thank you! Yeah, as you can tell, it is my favorite feature too.
Finally built ours. Only about 8/10ths of an acre but it looks good where it is. Trying to get it stocked now but the right size and mixture of fish hasn't shown up as of yet. Still, the deer are using it for watering, the turkeys have room to strut, the dove use it morning and evening, we hear more quail in the evening, and the frog and cricket sounds at night are amazing (we even crack the window in the bedroom to listen to them). Additionally, we plan on using it for irrigation of the garden and yard. Oh, the dogs absolutely love it. They think we bought them a swimming pool. Glad we could finally afford to have it done cash on the barrel head as we've committed to not buying anything else on credit.
Right on! Congratulations and great job saving up to build your dreams. That’s the way to do it. 👊
I want a pond just for a water source.
Great reason!
Extra water source for your home.
Absolutely!
We have a spring fed creek. Sometimes it gets up to 65 degrees in august. Too cold to dip a toe in but its nice to look at.
Nice! A creek on a property is awesome too!
Your pond looks great! I jumped into my redneck swimming pool yesterday after weed eating and it felt great! One thing I did that really makes it more like a swimming pool is I had a well put in that pumps 10,000 gallons of water into it every day that's on a timer. Its about a 1/2 acre pond and the warmer water on top that goes over the spillway like a pool skimmer.. The water is crystal clear and it stays cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter it never freezes over. I also have a waterfall pumps 8,000 gallons an hour that helps aerate the water.
We have a cattle pond...not that much fun...muddy and hard to get around the banks. But could not have cattle without it.
That makes it pretty valuable still! Good reason to have one.
What does it take to build a pomd
What You Need To Know Before Digging a Farm Pond ua-cam.com/video/Ty8D1jcmKBc/v-deo.html Check this video out to hear about what we learned.
If I had the budget I would go for dual wheels over spacers, as duals are wider. Also with "click" type duals a wheeel can be removed easily. I grew up on a hill country farm and the 80 hp tractor had duals, while the 45hp tractor had adjustable rims set to a 7'6" track over the factory 6" track.
Good morning Lucas
Good morning!
Food source that doesn't require daily chores.
That’s a good one!
First I need to get a property. 😊
Took me years! It’s worth the grind! 👊
Watch lanmodo videos, he talks about owner financed properties. They have some properties on there that are like $200 down and $200 a month, just depending on what you're looking for and how big of a property you want! The cheapest I have seen is $100 down and $50 a month but it was only for 1-acre! Landmodo is the name of his channel and the name of the website!
Thank you for this
I’d have a separate machine or tractor for mowing. No way I want to spend time constantly removing or adding attachments the older I get.
Massey Ferguson 135 1969 has linch pin storage
I built my pond 10 years ago. I got some estimates and it ran around $30K. Needless to say I didn't go that route. I bought an old dozer and dug an 1&1\4 acre pond. It's 14' deep in the center. I hit pretty hard clay and spread it all over the slopes of the pond. I kept the stumps from some of the hardwoods I had to clear. I ended up burying the stumps in the pond upside down to add structure along with cinder blocks and pvc pipes. Since I wanted some catfish I built fish breeding structures from two five gallon buckets tywraped together with an entrance on one end and the other end buried in the banks a few feet down. I have to say I get catfish spawns every year so they are working well. After the pond was finished it filled with water within two months. I thought it would take years. I found a pond with lots of red fin shinners and I caught several hundred and put them in the new pond. Now the important part. You have to add fertilizer to green the water. In six months the pond had thousands of minnows and at that point I added catfish and coppernose bluegills. They both flourished but unfortunately I wanted crappie and although I've added them three times I don't believe any have survived. I built a pier when I dug the lake and have power and water there. I have a small air compressor blowing air to an aerator at the deepest part of the pond. I also dug a 25' well to pump water into the pond 24 hrs per day. It doesn't keep it topped up but does slow evaporation down a lot. Mistakes? I allowed trees to get established around the pond and not I'm having to cut down 6" diameter pine trees around the lake. Lots of work I could have avoided if I had kept them cleared early on. I still love the pond. I go out on the pier every night and throw out some fish food and a hundred fingerling catfish come up for it and the occasional perch. The pond ended up being my favorite area of my farm and my grandkids enjoy going out and feeding the fish.
Sounds like you’ve got an amazing setup! Nice work!
What about building a deck or pier above that step slop area?
All I did was flip my rims lol
Great idea for the laser on the mill. I liked the firewood cutting table you laid out your slabs on. Do you have another video or a picture that shows more detail? I would like to make one to lay my slabs on for cutting. (Hud-Son Hunter 21” mill in production for two years now).

Hustler zero turn does this so much better, any zero turn can handle steep hills
My old 851 ford has them, typical new stuff
The part I hate is changing the underneath fuel filter.
I changed mine yesterday. I’ve gotten the hang of it pretty well. Vise grips on the line inside the fender well helps make a cleaner swap.
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead I am going to mount the underneath filter to the frame rail tommorrow and it be a Racor filter
*Those are empty chemical totes. Good idea!* 👍
Y don’t you mow the ditch the other way from top to bottom
When this product advertised for garage floor, it was meaning home garages, as where one parks their cars, not a working mechanic garage. Of course the floors are going to get ruined. No matter what you have one can not escape the fact that garages are nasty and the building gets destroyed no matter what
You took it out of the park with this one! To visualize how you deal with such a big curved log, makes it easily doable. Then, having the laser, that's the icing on the cake! Good to see you both.
Thanks! This log perfectly illustrated how much the laser helps! 😊
Lucas: that is a really good idea. I hope many people get one for their mill.
That whole log would be firewood. I have never split my slab wood, I just cut to length and stack it.
I needed batten strips and I got enough out of it to finish the building. 🤷🏼♂️
Thats a deep pond! Damn
He's such a good kid, you must be very proud of him 😊
Thank you! He really is.
Great idea Mr Lucas
Thanks!
Level lasers will help your eye see the best cut for sure. On curved logs, an option is cutting them at the bend so you mill two logs, of course getting shorter boards but it can increase the bf cut.
Yeah, in this case that would have been smarter because I needed all shorter batten strips anyway.
Should also change valve stem
Hey ordered mill got your 5% discount on june 9 th only heard so far its ordered. Does mecmaxx give you heads up when it will ship.
I appreciate that. I have only really talked to them in general terms and that they have been on a 4-6 week lead time because they are selling as fast as they can get them to their warehouses. If your wait gets too long you can send me your order number and I will ask them for an update. 👊

Great video!!!! Man, you have probably done more to inspire me to get a mill than anyone I’ve watched. Your enthusiasm is contagious. Still waiting to see more of the Caden Comedy Show. God bless you brother. Have a great weekend!!!
Thank you! The mill is just such a fun hobby! I appreciate you joining us. I’ve been on Caden to prepare some more jokes! 😊
I like the laser, but I might remove it before cutting to ensure that the vibration does not shorten the life of the laser. Great video and innovative use of simple technology. When you are working alone you have to use everything available to work smarter.
Yeah that probably wouldn’t be a bad idea…
